recipe ingredients in bowls on a wooden surface
    Ingredients
    • Mushrooms: I used Baby Bella mushrooms. You can use white button mushrooms or cremini mushrooms.
    • Onion: We love yellow onion as it doesn't have a pungent flavor and goes very well with several dishes like burgers, sandwiches, fajitas, pizzas, salads, you name it! If you love a more mellowed down flavor use white onion and for a strong flavor use red onion.
    • Seasoning: Salt (add according to your own personal taste preference), crushed black pepper & red pepper flakes. This will add a subtle kick to this roasted mushrooms and onions.
    • Soy Sauce: Use either low sodium soy sauce or sub it with coconut aminos or tamari. You'll love the flavor. The subtle tang and depth of flavor goes so well with mushrooms.
    • Oil: Use either extra light or light olive oil.
    • Cooking oil spray: We prefer using avocado cooking oil spray as it has higher smoke point and perfect for high heat cooking. You can use any cooking oil you prefer.

    Top Tips

    • How to clean Mushrooms: Rinse the mushrooms in colander under running tap water to remove all the dirt. Drain and than pat them dry with the help of kitchen towels. Do not soak the mushrooms in water as they will become soggy while air frying and would release lots of moisture.
    • Cut Mushrooms: If your mushrooms are on the larger side do cut them in quarters. I love to halve the mushrooms as they do shrink up a bit in the air fryer.
    • Spicy Onions and mushrooms: For extra heat double the amount of red pepper flakes mentioned in the recipe.
    • Seasonings: You can play around with the seasonings and develop new flavors. For instance add about ¼ teaspoon garlic powder if you love garlic flavor. You can also add dried herbs and come up with more flavor.

First attempt with mushrooms and onoions
      Worked out perfectly
I tossed them more than once because I put a lot in the basket
I didn’t cook them to serve immediately so I did them slightly under so they would finish cooking upon re heat in my air fryer
Don’t leave out the soya sauce
      It’s a winner
      Thanks
