Ingredients & Substitutions
Find the Ingredients with actual measurements at the bottom of the post. The list below is just a reference.
- Radishes: Fresh globe red radishes, stems removed, ends trimmed and halved. Rinse the radishes well and drain them in a colander or strainer. You can also used cubed daikon radishes. Cut them into ½ inch cubes.
- Seasonings: Garlic powder, Crushed black pepper, Red pepper flakes, salt according to taste.
- Oil: We used olive oil. You can also use avocado oil.
- Cooking oil spray: Avocado cooking oil spray is our favorite. It's perfect for high heat cooking.
- Garnish: Fresh finely chopped Parsley or chives or dill.
Top Tips
- Choosing radishes: Choose radishes that are bright red in color and tight to the touch. Avoid radishes that are soft, wrinkled, scratched. They are not fresh radishes and will turn very soft or mushy when air fried or roasted.
- Prep radishes: Do trim the roots and ends of the radishes and save the leaves. The leaves taste very good when lightly sautéed in olive oil or chopped and added fresh in salads or soups. Rinse the radishes well to remove any dirt or debris and drain them in a metal colander or a strainer.
- Seasoning Variations: You can season the halved radishes before air frying them with Italian seasoning, lemon pepper seasoning, salt free Cajun seasoning, salt free fajita seasoning or take the simple route and just add salt, pepper and a few dashes red pepper flakes for some added kick.
